The further into my teen years I get, the more I take refuge in nature.

Memories
2024-07-29: "...I ended up walking back after the library closed and the sun was setting. I should do this more often! Maybe trees are more beautiful when the sky has dimmed them. You either start seeing things in them or start seeing them in the whole, as the darkness has drawn your focus to their shapes rather than all the green ruffles." (Source)
2022-04-27: "It smells quite weird when I stick my head out of my bedroom's window. While there are some beautiful flowers with beautiful smells growing on the tree right outside, the entire outside area is cloaked in a damp soggy smell from the heavy rain earlier today. Now both of those smells are mixed together!" (Source)
2021-03-20: "I just came home from helping a local group clean up a lake about 3 minutes away from my home with beer all over my leg. I had found a can of beer sitting in the rocks near the lake, and apparently some jackass opened it but didn't drink anything out of it, leaving it on the ground. I put it in the bag assuming it was empty like all the other discarded cans and bottles I had found in the area, only for all the beer to spill onto my leg :/" (Source)
WILD GEESE
by Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
