Forst

"Forst (Lausitz) is a town in Brandenburg, Germany. It lies east of Cottbus, on the river Lausitzer Neiße which is also the German-Polish border, the Oder-Neisse line. It is the capital of the Spree-Neiße district."

A watertower.

I don't remember the details, but a short while after I turned 10, our family was about to get forced out of Gaziantep by the government. To decide what our next move was, the whole family gathered in the living room. I'm pretty sure we did a whole bunch of things like prayer and casting lots, but what I remember clear as ever is that we all closed our eyes and waited for God to show any of us whatever he wanted.

A sidewalk and street in December.

Then I saw a forest. All speices of trees and bushes arranged chaotically. Suprising amounts of space and sunlight. Next I saw the number "112" in red on a black background. Finally, I saw the word "Germany" as one of those displayed-in-lighbulbs signs you see sometimes.

A snowy German town!

Mom and dad spent the next few days researching with what I had told them, and decided we were going here. The name was close to "forest" (yes this is that stupid), it was in Germany, and apparently it had something to do with a "112" highway. We found out one of our friends knew a guy in Hoyerswerda, so we contacted him and ended up staying at his place for a month while we searched for an apartment of our own in Forst.

We then alternated between living here and in Skopje every few months when I was 10/11, before we ended up moving to the USA indefinetly. Didn't do much here after all that, lol.
